An embodied anatomy and muscle meditation approach to the problem of too much sitting.
This class is a gentle and natural exploration of your own structure using movement, self-massage, and guided body meditations. You will take home a better understanding of your own body, specific knowledge of three key areas of your anatomy, and how to live in your body in a more balanced, empowered way. All bodies welcome.
New anatomical science makes many common joint and postural disorders unnecessary!
Got low back, knee, neck or shoulder pain? Come and learn simple, gentle techniques to relieve these and other common postural problems.
This class is good for anyone who is experiencing chronic joint pain or postural problems. If you would like to understand your own anatomy better–in a way that lets you do something about it–this class is for you.
Based on the anatomy and epidemiology of the sitting disease epidemic, exercise and rehabilitation science, somatic psychology, and the exciting neuroscience of trauma, you will learn how to correct your posture and find power from within.
Each class will be comprehensive but will also have a focus on a key area:
~ December 14: The neck/arm complex: fixing the slouch.
~ January 6: Low back pain and the pelvis.
~ January 18: Your feet and the new deep core.
Take one or two classes, or the entire series. Each 90-minute class is exploration of ideas, movement, and your own structure. Wear loose clothing and be ready to learn with your eyes, ears, heart and your muscles!
