This Women’s Temple we will be focusing on the theme of Dharma.
Dharma is both personal and universal – there is much confusion around the word. Basically Dharma is ‘do the right thing’, it is the laws of the universe and it is personal in that you have a unique flavor to offer the world. It’s not really as some believe “your job” or your ‘career’ that is your dharma, although that is likely part of your dharma (purpose) even if you don’t like your job. Dharma is what is right here, right now, it’s not in the future. You always have the opportunity to do the right thing.
In Temple, we don’t do a whole lot of lecture or talking or Q & A, this is more of an embodied knowledge that is already within your own being, we will be taping into that which is inherently you. We WON’T be sitting around philosophizing, discussing the merit’s of right action vs, ya know, not right action, discussion, or spending all our time above the neck. We want to get back down into the rest of the body….that which doesn’t get enough attention from us, yet is absolutely where we can tune into our impulse to create what we are here to create!
This January Temple is open to all, with an emphasis on preparing those of you interested in the Women’s Temple Group Facilitator Training here at SomaSpace in March.
About Women’s Temple
That which we are longing for is who we already are ~ this insight is the basis for our spiritual exploration in Women’s Temple. Our practice is not towards a goal of attainment in the future; it is a process of melting, of unraveling the wisdom and beauty already inherent in each woman. There is no more powerful place to do that than in a circle of conscious women.
Instead of enforcing the status quo by focusing on our problems and personal shortcomings, Temple practices connect us with truth beyond our fears and limited self images. From this deeper place, we can navigate our lives with Presence and inner guidance, instead of exhausting ourselves in trying to be leaders from a tense, competitive and disconnected state of mind.
Women’s Temple is not a therapy or a support group. It is a space where we come to mirror, celebrate and empower each other. A space where we can drop our masks and let the beauty of our authentic face be seen in all its glory and pain, passion and vulnerability.
